As a musician, Johnny Cash defied the "borders" between country, rock and American folk music. His marriage to June Carter took his music and ties to roots material that much further. With his first wife, Vivian Liberto, he had a little girl named Rosanne. Rosanne Cash has gone on to become one of alt.country's great contributors, while her half-brother, Johnny and June's son John, is a well-established country singer/songwriter.
