I first learned about the Avett Brothers during Pickathon this year, down in Portland, Oregon. The trio of singer-songwriters from North Carolina join all the other stellar acts coming out of that fine state lately, and were one of the most talked-about groups at Pickathon. They managed to walk away with a few Americana Music Awards this year, too.
