The IBMA is a professional organization dedicated to preservation and education in the area of Bluegrass music. They hold events, festivals, concerts, and workshops that promote and encourage bluegrass players. They also hold an annual awards ceremony that honors the best artists and bands in bluegrass music.
Artists who have been chosen by the IBMA as the Emerging Artist of the Year have almost always gone on to be some of the most successful artists in the field.
