Vance Gilbert Biography:

Vance Gilbert was born and raised in New Jersey but, after college, moved to Boston to pursue music. He began his music career as a jazz singer and a lounge act before turning more toward contemporary folk and singer-songwriter music. Although he spent many years solidifying his stage presence in the New England folk music scene, it was his tour with Shawn Colvin that endeared him to mainstream folk audiences. Now a staple on the national festival circuit, Gilbert is known for his infectious stage presence and stirring, substantive songs.
