Paul Simon's Latest: Surprise

On his first album in six years, Paul Simon teamed up with Brian Eno – the electronic music pioneer known for his work with the envelope-pushing pop/rock band Roxy Music. As our Classic Rock Guide discovered, though, the electronic impulses thrown into the background of Simon's latest effort, Surprise, are so subtle that they are more surprising creative enhancement than strange departure ... but then, creative enhancement is what Paul Simon is good at experimenting with. That comes as no surprise.
