- We adore ALL of those that you listed, and offer a hearty "hear hear" to each and every one. Seriously. That Mike and Peggy Seeger one is amazing, and it's worth getting Ruth Crawford Seeger's (their Mom) book to go with it -- it has all sorts of good ideas for circle games and fingerplays and things that go along with the songs. Just to add a few more to the list: Elizabeth Mitchell's albums are amazing. Great old songs and new ones, too, clever reworkings of some rock hits into kid-folk classics, etc. Also, Leadbelly's children's album is great, as is the Johnny Cash Children's Album, which contains the current #1 hit song in our house: "Nasty Dan."
