Flatpicking master and Americana singer/songwriter
Doc Watson is frequently seen as one of the living legends in the field. His influence has been felt across
old time,
bluegrass, folk, and pop music, and he continues to put out great music all the time.
His son, Merle, is the namesake of Merlefest—one of the most popular roots music festivals in the country. Together, Doc and Merle won four Grammy Awards, and spent more than a decade touring together before Merle's untimely death in a tractor accident.
