Jeffrey Foucault

For all the incredible folk singer/songwriters coming out of the Boston area, Jeffrey Foucault is one of the smoothest I found out about this year. His 2006 album, Ghost Repeater ranges from tunes about love and longing like "Mesa, Arizona," to tributes to friends like "Tall Grass in Old Virinny." Onstage, Foucault is a great storyteller and sings his songs with his whole face. For all of these reasons, he is definiteyl among my favorites that I've learned about this year.
