Townes Van Zandt had an unfortunately brief life and career; but during his short career, he managed to release recording after recording of terrifically influential, hauntin music. This album was recorded in 1966, before his debut album came out, but wasn't released until 2003. Townes tended to teeter between country, blues, and contemporary folk, but this recording is more focused on his folk-blues influences.
