Kwanzaa Principle of the Day: Kuumba:

Kuumba stands for the principle of creativity. This principle is focused on during the sixth day of Kwanzaa in an attempt to come up with innovative ways of beautifying and benefitting the African-American community.

Holiday Tradition of the Day: the Seven Symbols:

Kwanzaa is celebrated for seven days, and in addition to the 7 principles, there are also 7 symbols of the values and principles associated with Kwanzaa:
1. Mazao (the Crops)
2. Mkeka (the Mat)
3. Kinara (the Candle Holder)
4. Muhindi (the Corn)
5. Mishumaa Saba (the Seven Candles)
6. Kikombe cha Umoja (the Unity Cup)
7. Zawadi (the Gifts)
