Clawhammer Banjo

Definition: A style of playing the banjo wherein the player strums down, picking all five strings using only their thumb and forefinger, and hitting the strings with the back of their fingernails.
Pronunciation: KLAW'-ham-er
Also Known As: Frailing
Examples: As opposed to other picking styles, clawhammer banjo style uses the backs of your fingers
