Kenny & Amanda Smith impressed the IBMA in 2003, when they were named the IBMA's Emerging Artist of the Year. Since then, they've had some success singing some really pretty songs with lovely harmonies. They're charming live performers, and the chemistry between them is unstoppable.
On this night, they were pleased to be in front of a room full of bluegrassers who could understand what they were saying. As Amanda noted, they had to have "a young'un from Kentucky" translate during a recent show in Minnesota.
Although their tunes tend more toward the low-key country-pop singer/songwriter style, they were well received at this Bluegrass festival.
