2006 was another impressive year from the folksinger/work-horse. In the course of one year, she managed to return from medical hiatus, launch a worldwide tour, receive an award from the National Organization for Women, announce her pregnancy, release a critically acclaimed album (Reprieve), and head back to hiatus in preparation for her child. Despite the hectic pace, yet again, Difranco managed to put on great shows, make a fabulous record, and make time for a lengthy interview with yours truly (among the barrage of other media).

Ani Difranco hasn't exactly earned the reputation of an artist that floats in and out of her fans' periphery now and then. In the 16 years she's been making records, she's managed to release 18 solo records, two collaborations with Utah Phillips, and a slew of other collaborations, benefits and side projects.
