Each year, the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America (SPBGMA) presents awards to some of the most notable artists in contemporary and traditional bluegrass music from the past year. Here is a list of the nominees and winners (in bold) for the 2009 SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Awards. Winners were announced during the 26th Annual SPBGMA National Convention in Nashville, Tenn., on Feb. 15, 2009.
