Sean Watkins Biography:
Sean Watkins started out playing with prodigious bluegrass trio Nickel Creek, along with his sister Sara Watkins (fiddle) and their friend Chris Thile (mandolin). At the age of 16, he qualified for the National Flatpicking Championship. He released three solo albums during the tenure of Nickel Creek.
What Sean Watkins Is up to Now:
According to
Billboard, Sean and his sister Sara Watkins have joined with members of Toad and the Wet Sprocket, the Heartbreakers and the Imposters to form a band tentatively called The Scrolls. According to his MySpace page, he's also teamed up with Switchfoot member Jon Foreman on a group called either The Long Distance Runners or The Real SeanJon. An album is due out in 2008.
