Old Crow Medicine Show Biography:
They moved to North Carolina for a spell, where they met and impressed singer-songwriter legend Doc Watson and were consequently invited to play at MerleFest—one of contemporary folk and bluegrass music's largest annual festivals. Soon, they moved to Nashville and started performing with folk and country legends like Dolly Parton and Merle Haggard, gracing the airwaves on A Prairie Home Companion, and performing at the Grand Ole Opry.
They inked a deal with New England-based Nettwerk Records in 2003 and went to work on their self-titled debut album with producer and guitar master David Rawlings (Gillian Welch, David Rawlings Machine). Since then, they've continued their tireless touring and have performed at most of the major music festivals in North America, including Bonnaroo, JazzFest, Telluride, and several others. They've been featured on Austin City Limits, Later with Jools Holland, and had two songs on the soundtrack for the Academy Award-nominated film TransAmerica.
