Ben Kweller Biography:

Ben Kweller was born in 1981 in San Francisco, Calif., and soon moved to Texas with his family. His father bought him a drumkit when he was a child, and he soon migrated to learning the piano, where he wrote some of his earliest songs. He formed a band called Radish as a teenager and started playing gigs around town before eventually signing to Mercury Records.

After Radish split up, when he was 19, Kweller moved to New York City and started working on a solo career. He self-released a handful of solo EPs before touring with Jeff Tweedy, Guster, and others. He signed a deal with ATO Records in 2001 and has since released four albums on the label.
