David Bazan Biography:

David Bazan was born in January, 1976, and grew up in Shoreline, Wash. He started his musical career as a drummer for the band the Guilty with Damien Jurado, with whom he attended high school. Through the years, Bazan has played with a number of artist and bands in the Northwest, including Rosie Thomas, Seldom, and the Undertow Orchestra (with Vic Chestnutt and others). However, he is best known for being the frontman for lofi indie folk outfit Pedro the Lion. He performed and was the chief songwriter for Pedro from 1998-2004, and has been performing as a solo artist since releasing his first solo CD in 2006.

Bazan's first full-length solo album explores his widely talked-about detachment from Christianity and his struggles with faith. While Pedro the Lion was always a darling of critics, Curse Your Branches has been widely well-received by fans and critics alike. In its wake, Bazan has gone on a house concert tour and opened for Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie), among others.
