Peace Through Music:
Dan Fogelberg was committed to a number of causes during his career, particularly environmentalism and the abolition of nuclear power. He was also a vocal supportor of Native American issues and the peace movement.
Dan Fogelberg Bio:
Born in Peoria, IL, in 1951, Dan Fogelberg was the son of a high school band director and a pianist. He taught himself how to play guitar when he was a kid, and also learned to play piano early on. He joined his first band in high school, then began playing local gigs as a singer-songwriter during college. After being discovered in 1971, he played for a time as a session player, before releasing his debut album in 1972. Fogelberg released nearly two dozen albums and had 11 hit singles. He died of prostate cancer in December, 2007.
