Finally a live CD. Working on the premise that music is always better done live, after touring pretty much nonstop for almost ten years at that point, Ani DiFranco finally released a live record. Until then, the only live recordings were bootleg style, with people talking over songs. This time, the audience wasn't even mic'd, which is remarkable, considering how much audience noise you hear (according to the liners, you hear what Ani's guitar hears).

This is also a full band record (pre-horn section), featuring Stochansky on drums, Sara Lee (Indigo Girls, B-52s) on bass, and keyboardist Julie Wolf (Dar Williams, Melissa Ferrick). Pretty much the closest to a greatest hits collection that she's ever released, this album also includes the never-before-or-since-released tune "Hide and Seek." Recorded over the course of an entire tour, Living in Clip also includes performances Ani did with the Buffalo Philharmonic (a little weird, admittedly) featuring the arrangements of Doc Severenson on "Both Hands" and "Amazing Grace."
