Even though you still get plenty of hissing esses, this record weeds out all the (arguably) best songs from Ani's first two recordings (Ani DiFranco and Not So Soft). "Looking For the Holes," "Letting the Telephone Ring," and "The Next Big Thing" are among the songs not included here, so I'd still recommend you check out the first two records. Nonetheless, this is a great primer for the early years of Ani's career, as the songs are re-presented with various other forms of accompaniment in addition to her vocals and acoustic guitar.
