Alison Krauss and Union Station - New Favorite

From Kim Ruehl, About.com

Considering Alison Krauss' entire discography, New Favorite is probably the one recording that stands out as the best, most well-rounded disc in the bunch.

On this, Alison Krauss' ninth recording for Rounder Records, she and Union Station perform some of the most well-rounded tunes up until this point in their career. Excellent, infectious numbers from this record include the folky "The Lucky One" and "Let Me Touch You For Awhile,". There's the the country trot of "Daylight" with Jerry Douglas' fabulous Dobro picking.

If I had to pick a favorite Alison Krauss and Union Station CD, New Favorite would easily take the title. Every song is impeccably arranged and produced, and depicts a band that has, once and for all, inarguably come into its own.
