Alison Krauss' second recording with Union Station shows more depth and maturity than her earlier recordings. Her voice is more developed and clear and the same outstanding musicianship gets a little more room to breathe. This album also shows a few inklings of departure from the country and bluegrass that was so dominant in her earlier recordings. Here, she's experimenting with more mainstream musical styles, and doing so quite successfully, while still holding to her fierce instrumentals on tunes like "Cluck Old Hen".
