Ever since he burst on the national scene with his band Whiskeytown back in the 1990s, Ryan Adams has been a serious force to be reckoned with in the Americana/alt-country/singer-songwriter realm. From his solo albums to those with Whiskeytown and the Cardinals, his various collaborations, the two books he wrote - and those written about him - and his numerable turns as a producer...Adams is easily one of the most prolific and multi-talented artists in those genres.
In 2011, he released his 13th solo album Ashes & Fire, which earned him a nod from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. As we get ready to check out the Grammy show this weekend, now is as good a time as any to delve into the career of the fabulous Ryan Adams.
