This is not the first time Darrell Scott and Tim O'Brien have joined forces, of course. These two of the finest singer-songwriters in contemporary folk and Americana music - not to mention the realm of multi-instrumentalists - have performed and recorded frequently through the years. Their synergy is beyond apparent on this new live album, recorded over the course of two concerts they gave to raise money for their kids' junior high school.
The result is a stunning collection of remarkably well-performed classics from both of their repertoires. If they think they're usually a lot better than this, then it must be admitted that even at their most questionable, this is still a pair of the finest artists at work in their field.
