Essential Albums By Bob Dylan
Friday July 11, 2008
Bob Dylan has been one of the most dynamic artists in the history of modern American music. From his early days singing topical songs and earning a place as the darling of the American folk music revival, to his conscientious departure from that image and his influence on folk-rock, roots, and contemporary blues music, Dylan has tried it all.
His discography can, admittedly, be a little intimidating to novice Dylanologists. But, fear not, fair readers. Here's a look at five of Bob Dylan's most memorable, envelope-pushing albums, and how they affected the turns of American folk-rock history.

No ‘Bringin’ it All Back Home’? Travesty! I also love ‘Street Legal’, if for no other reason than “Senor” is my favorite Dylan song EVAR!!1!
I have to agree that “Senor” is one of his best songs ever, but I don’t know which one of these five I could possibly remove from the list for ‘Bringin’ It All Back Home’ and still have my conscience intact.
I hear you loud and clear on that one. I’m the type of girl who buys the same shirt in all seven colors, just so as to avoid narrowing it down.
