Folk Song History: "Scarborough Fair"

Simon and Garfunkel - Parsely Sage Rosemary and Thyme Album Cover"Scarborough Fair" , popularized in America by Simon and Garfunkel, is an English folk song about a trade fair that took place in the resort town of Scarborough during the medieval times. Like any trade show, it also attracted entertainment and food vendors, and other hangers-on. The fair peaked in the late 14th century, but continued to operate until the end of the 1700s. Now, several fairs are held in rememberance of the original.

does the folk song Scarborough fair go back to 14 centry becuse it was not written by paul simon they might have sung it as a cover but they didn’t written it from daniel clapham
