Interview With Tim O'Brien

Monday February 25, 2008
Tim O'Brien Live in ConcertOne of the highlights of my week at Folk Alliance was getting to sit down in the Peabody Hotel with multi-instrumentalist Tim O'Brien, and talk about his upcoming album Chameleon (due out Mar. 25, 2008). It was also fun to see the famous ducks swimming around in the fountain.

Two years ago, O'Brien released two albums at once: one was a collection of classic Celtic tunes, and the other paid homage to southern-style folk songs. In contrast, Chameleon is a solo singer/songwriter album, where, with the exception of three songs which he co-wrote, these are all Tim O'Brien originals. While there is a bit of a nod to the traditional, it is mostly a contemporary mix. Find out what he had to say about the disc and what's going on in the music world these days. Read my full interview with Tim O'Brien.
