Americana Artist of the Year: Patty Griffin

Patty Griffin - Children Running Through CD CoverAt last night's Americana Music Association Honors and Award Show, Patty Griffin and the Avett Brothers each took home two awards. Griffin was deservingly awarded Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for her outstanding record, Children Running Through (ATO). The Avett Brothers were awarded Duo or Group of the Year, as well as Emerging Artist of the Year.

The 2007 Americana Music Honors and Awards Show was held in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 1, 2007, at the tail end of the eighth annual Americana Music Association conference and festival. Among the artists performing at the Honors and Award Show were Griffin, Guy Clark, Todd Snider, Emmylou Harris, and many more. Read a full list of this year's winners and nominees.
