Alison Krauss and Union Station Live CD CoverJust when you thought that bluegrass diva and fiddle prodigy Alison Krauss had worked with every single musician in North America, she throws you a curveball. As About's Classic Rock Guide noted today, the versatile songstress has teamed up with hard rocker Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) for a duets album. The album, produced by none other than T Bone Burnett, doesn't yet have an exact release date, but I'll do what I can to keep you posted.

In the meantime, entertain yourself and your friends by playing Six Degrees of Alison Krauss.

Led Zeppelin is the greatest musical entity in music history. It is ironoic that Plant will finally win a Grammy for this collaberation. Allison Krauss should be honored and I’m sure she is. She is perhaps the most talented performer in her arena of music. I can’t wait to hear this. John Paul Jones of Zeppelin has been working on Bluegrass material too and I believe is in the process of recording with Bela Fleck.

Thrilling!
We’ve invited many country musicians to New England to play and they play with the music when they’re up here, transforming their same ol’ stuff into something unique and fun!
I can’t wait to hear what Alison & Robert can do together!
GO FOR IT!

I love bluegrass and have been into such performers as Doc Watson, Ralph Stanley, Pete Seeger, Jay Ungar and Molly Mason – songbirds of the Catskills. I also listened to Zeppelin until the needle broke through to the other side. Immigrant Song, Since I’ve been Loving You, Gallows Pole (actually performed by Woody Guthrie), Black Mountain Side, etc. think it’s cool that these two renowned musicians have chosen to play together – although I will openly admit that I was a little bewildered at first. Not that anyone really cares – but now I can’t wait for the release to come out and have gotten over my jealousy LOL

Just picked up the CD with Robert Plant and Alisyon Krause and it is fabuluous. Harmonies are great… it is a bit country, rock-n-roll, blues and a bit of gospel thrown in for good measure. Vocals and Instrumentals are great…

I have loved Alison since I first heard her back in the 80′s. I can’t believe she’s actually teaming up with Robert Plant! Led Zeppelin is my all time favorite rock group. I can’t wait to hear this!!

Ya know, we hear a lot about all the artists she’s teamed up with but none seem to mention the gospel music. She did one with the “Cox Family”. I can’t remember the name of it, but I’ve worn it out listening to it.

I wish I could play my fiddle half as good as she can. She has been and always will be a great inspiration to me.

I have this album and I LOVE it. Their voices blend in such a way that’s both haunting and ever so romantic. It’s a jewel for anyone’s collection who is a fan of either artist or both.

Hey, guys –

I work for Rounder, the label this album came out on, and it’s really great to see such support! “Gone Gone Gone” is up for a CMT award (airing next month), so if you could take a couple of minutes and go to CMT.com to vote, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
