Artist Profile: Brandi Carlile

Since signing with Columbia Records in 2004, Brandi Carlile's career has taken off at rocket speeds. She was named one of Rolling Stone magazine's "Top 10 Artists to Watch in 2005." She's toured persistantly throughout the US and has garnered praise from press and fans alike in Americana communities, as well as the genres of alt.country and alternative rock.

    So, I get that Brandi Carlile writes music as well as performing it… but she’s female. So who is it that performs “Let Your Troubles Roll By” on the “TIME Know Music” (either vol.1 or vol.2, I’m not sure which) CD sampler? It’s one of five songs credited to “Brandi Carlile” on the CD, so I guess that means she wrote the song (which is a great song, by the way!) but it doesn’t say who’s performing it! Who is it??

    I’m not familiar with that CD, but, from everything I could find on that song, a group named Carbon Leaf is attributed to it. You can learn more about them here:
