k.d. lang started her career in the public eye as a kitschy, campy Canadian country singer. The songs on this album feature lang's greatest hits from the time she started making Nashville nervous until her break-away from country music in 1992.
Even though it took years (and a couple of Grammy Awards) for Nashville to embrace k.d.'s music, fans of country, folk, pop, and alt.country have been loving it all along. For anyone that's only mildly familiar with lang's early roots, Reintarnation serves as a worthy introduction to this undefinable artist. k.d. is also About Folk Music's Artist of the Month for May.
