The Grass is Bluer This Weekend in Tacoma, WA

The annual Wintergrass Bluegrass Music Festival kicked off last night in Tacoma, WA, with a charming performance by The Canotes. Prairie Flyer also put on a stellar show, after which Kenny & Amanda Smith (the IBMA's Emerging Artist of the Year in 2003) played their pretty songs. Everywhere you could look in the hotel lobby, hallways, and every nook and cranny, there were people in groups jamming away at old standards.
