Artist Profile: Blind Boys of Alabama

For over sixty years, the Blind Boys of Alabama have been contributing incredible music to the American palette. They started out as a couple of guys from Alabama's Institue for the Negro Blind, who were just singing straight up gospel music. Later, they started incorporating contemporary American folk songs into their repertoire, mixing up the arrangements to fit their gospel background, and impressing fans and critics alike. Their innovative style and unmatchable staying power have made them one of the most respected African-American groups in the folk world. Read more.
