New Folk Releases Day
For some reason, today is one of those days that all the stars have aligned, and more than one Folk artist has decided this random Tuesday at the end of January would be the perfect day to release a CD. First off, Rosanne Cash has has released her newest brilliant, beautiful CD Black Cadillac. The CD includes 13 songs written over a period during which Rosanne lost her father (Johnny), her birth mother (Viviane) and stepmother (June Carter). It may be too soon to say this, but I will anyway: Black Cadillac could be my favorite record this year.
January's Featured Artists Railroad Earth have just put out a double live CD, Elko, which includes twelve great songs, and comes as close as is possible on a recording to capturing the band's great live energy and tight musicianship.
