Arlo Guthrie Knows What it Means to Miss New Orleans

Tuesday November 15, 2005
Folksinger/songwriter Arlo Guthrie, son of Woody Guthrie, is set to embark on a cross-country trip on the Amtrak train known as "The City of New Orleans." Guthrie's trip will take him and his musician friends from Chicago to New Orleans, playing at train stations and small venues at stops along the route. The money they raise along the way will go to help out the small music clubs in the Crescent City, who were affected by the recent hurricanes. The troupe will leave Chicago on December 5, and travel for 12 days, ending finally in New Orleans. For more information, keep an eye on the Train 2 New Orleans Web site.
