Meet Up-and-Comer Brandi Carlile

Recently, contributor Laura Gentry caught up with alt.country up-and-comer Brandi Carlile before her concert at Western Washington University in Bellingham. There, Brandi talked about cop shows, pizza toppings, Elton John, growing up in the country, and yes, even life on the road with her band.

Brandi may not be a household name yet, but her sorrowful, infectious songs have made her a huge hit in the college and independent market over here on the West Coast. Brandi, guitarist Tim Hanseroth, bassist Phil Hanseroth, drummer Jason Maybell and cellist Josh Newman will continue their nationwide tour through the middle of December promoting their album.
